Plumbing questions
Do you really answer the phone 24/7?
Yes. Calls are answered by a live dispatcher at any hour, including weekends and holidays, and a licensed plumber is sent out the same night.
What should I do before the plumber arrives?
Shut off the main water valve, turn off the water heater if the leak is near it, move valuables away from the water and, if it is safe, switch off electricity to any wet area.
Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?
In most cases yes. We inspect the line with a camera first and adjust the water pressure to the pipe material and condition.
How often should drains be cleaned?
Most homes only need service when a problem appears. Homes with large trees or a history of root intrusion benefit from main-line cleaning every one to two years.
Can you replace my water heater today?
In most cases yes. We stock common sizes on our trucks and can usually install a new unit the same day.
Should I repair or replace my water heater?
Repair makes sense for units under about 8 years old with a failed part. A leaking tank or a unit over 10 years old is usually best replaced.
Is tankless worth it in Texas?
For many households, yes: unlimited hot water, lower standby energy use and roughly twice the lifespan of a tank. It suits homes with high hot-water demand best.
Can a tankless water heater run multiple showers?
Yes, when it is sized correctly. Larger whole-home units can supply two or three fixtures at once.
How do I check for a leak myself?
Turn off every tap and water-using appliance, then watch the water meter for 15 to 30 minutes. If the leak indicator or dial moves, water is escaping somewhere.
Will you have to cut into my walls?
Only at the exact leak location. Accurate detection keeps openings small and repairs simple.
Is a slab leak an emergency?
It should be handled quickly. A hidden leak can undermine soil under the foundation, damage flooring and grow mold while running up your water bill.
Does homeowner's insurance cover slab leaks?
Many policies cover access and resulting water damage but not the pipe itself. Coverage varies, so check your policy; we provide documentation to help.
What is trenchless sewer repair?
Trenchless repair replaces or lines the pipe through small access points instead of digging a long trench, saving your lawn, driveway and landscaping.
Who is responsible for the sewer line, me or the city?
In most Texas cities, the homeowner is responsible for the line from the house to the city tap or property line. Check with your city for the exact boundary.
PEX or copper: which is better?
Both are durable. PEX resists freezing damage better, costs less and installs with fewer joints; copper is rigid and long-proven. We help you choose.
Can I stay in my home during a repipe?
Yes. Water is usually restored at the end of each workday.
Can you install a faucet I bought myself?
Yes. We install customer-supplied fixtures; our warranty covers our workmanship, and the manufacturer covers the product.
Why does my toilet keep running?
Usually a worn flapper, a bad fill valve or a misadjusted float. These are quick, inexpensive repairs.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not use switches, phones or flames inside. Leave immediately, then call your gas utility's emergency line or 911 from a safe distance.
Can you run a gas line for an outdoor kitchen?
Yes. We install lines for grills, fire pits, outdoor kitchens and pool heaters, with permits.
Is DFW water hard?
Most Dallas–Fort Worth cities have moderately hard to hard water. Exact levels are listed in each city's annual water quality report.
Softener or filter: which do I need?
A softener removes hardness minerals; a filter improves taste and removes contaminants. They solve different problems and often work best together.

Heating & air conditioning questions
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Common causes are a dirty filter, a frozen evaporator coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty condenser or a failed outdoor fan or capacitor.
Can you repair my AC today?
Same-day appointments are available most days, and most repairs are finished on the first visit.
What size AC do I need?
Size is based on a load calculation that considers square footage, insulation, windows, sun exposure and ductwork, not just the size of your old unit.
How long does AC installation take?
Most standard replacements are completed in one day.
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
Common causes are a dirty flame sensor, failed igniter, clogged filter or thermostat set to "fan on" instead of "auto".
Is a cracked heat exchanger dangerous?
Yes. It can allow carbon monoxide into your home. The furnace should be shut down until it is repaired or replaced.
Do heat pumps work in Texas winters?
Yes. Modern heat pumps heat efficiently in typical North Texas winter temperatures, with backup heat for hard freezes.
Why is my heat pump iced up?
Light frost in winter is normal and clears in defrost mode. Heavy ice or ice in summer means a problem that needs service.
How often should I get an HVAC tune-up?
Twice a year: the cooling system in spring and the heating system in fall.
How often should I change my air filter?
Check it monthly and replace standard 1-inch filters every one to three months; more often with pets or allergies.
Do whole-home air purifiers work?
Yes, when properly sized and maintained, they reduce airborne particles, allergens and odors throughout the home.
What MERV filter should I use?
MERV 8 to 13 balances filtration and airflow for most residential systems. We confirm what your system can handle.
How do I know if my ducts are leaking?
Hot rooms, dust, high bills and visible gaps or disconnected ducts in the attic are signs. A duct inspection confirms it.
How long does ductwork last?
Flexible duct typically lasts 15 to 25 years before it sags, tears or loses insulation.
